The End of the Summer of 2011

It has flown by. It seems like just a few weeks ago that staff were first arriving. Before we knew it, the middle of the Summer had arrived and now the end is in sight. It has been great. It is always amazing and refreshing to see how God is working in the lives of the campers who come here. It is wonderful to watch the fiery red sunsets on Round Lake, to hear about the fish that were caught with the camp grand parents and to watch the power of God in a thunderstorm. It is joyous to listen to campers sing worship, to listen to the staff playing their instruments and to hear God's word shared, for some, hearing it for the very first time. It is energizing to hear kids playing at the waterfront, to see the splash of a person jumping off the rope swing and to hear the hum of the speed boat pulling the red shark across the water. And it is powerful to sit in the silence, to hear the wind in the leaves and to look into the night sky and realize that we are so very small but that a God who created it all knows each and every one of our names. This is why we do what we do. And, although it is not the end of camp for the year, it is the passing of another season. It is a season that holds many fond memories for those who are blessed enough to be able to come to this place. We pray for many more Summers to come, many more sunsets, bon fires and Hallelujah's to echo across the lake. And we pray that those who do not yet know Jesus would be able to experience his transformational love here, at home or wherever his followers are sent. We hope to see you sometime in the next year at Covenant Pines. If not, we will see you again next Summer. God Bless.

2011 Sr High 2

It has been a busy week and it is hard to believe it is already Friday! Yesterday, campers participated in the all camp Ga Ga Ball tournament. Due to the rain we had, the Ga Ga Ball pit was nice and muddy again. There were lots of muddy arms, legs and even a few faces. Campers had the chance to wash away the mud in the swimming area and find respite from the warm, but enjoyable, weather.

Today, campers can look forward to the Powder Puff Football game between female campers and staff. There are rumors that Rosie Peterson will be playing for the staff team. We shall see. Even though it is Friday, there are still plenty of activities to participate in, worship songs to sing, moments to be in awe of God and time to spend with friends, new and old. Please continue to pray for the campers here and that God does amazing things this week in their lives.

Thunderstorms rolled through the McGregor area last night. It was a rainy start to the week but morning brought sun and a fresh start. It has been a powerful week already. Pat Hall, the speaker for the week, started off with a rousing session that has set a high tempo for the week. It will be fun to see how the campers grow and expand this week in their faith. It is great to talk with them and see what God is doing in their lives. Perhaps there will be a few storms exposed in peoples lives that will bring a new day, sunshine and a fresh start.

It is the beginning of the end! The last youth camp of the Summer! Today kicks off our Sr. High 2 week of camp and we are all excited, tired but excited. Pack Attack Day

Today is the Pack Attack! The packs have their cheers, their costumes and are ready to cheer each other on. It is going to be a great day at Covenant Pines. The weather is good and God has been doing amazing things in the lives of campers and staff. After all of the craziness of the day, campers and staff get to kick back and enjoy each others company at Pines Fest this evening. It's a time to relax, talk, throw a frisbee and enjoy the beautiful surroundings God has blessed us with here at Covenant Pines.

The Pack Attack is fast approaching!!! For those of you who don't know, one of the highlights at Jr High camp at Covenant Pines is the Pack Attack. It is a giant relay race that covers the entire territory of Covenant Pines. The best part is that it is fun. The saying is, if the pack attack stops being fun we stop having the pack attack. The race includes all sorts of fun challenges like canoeing, biking, trivia, speed beading, slushy drinking, archery and more. There is something for everyone. What is probably more fun is that the campers find out their pack early in the week and spend time prepping for the big event with costumes and cheers. The dining hall is often filled with various chants from the different teams. Stay tuned for the results! And thanks for the continued prayers and support!

Apparently Summer decided to show up. The weather is drastically different from what it was at the beginning of June but we'll take it. This week has been good so far. The kids are having lots of fun at the beach, playing big games and singing songs at worship. We hope God has changes in store for our campers and staff like the change in the weather. We are getting ready for another awesome week at camp! It will be warm but there are plenty of ways to cool down at camp. The waterfront activities will be well utilized this week. End of Trailblazer Beginning of Jr High

Sunday brought the end of Trailblazer 1. It was a great week filled with energetic kids, staff and lots of fun and learning. Sunday also brought a brief rest for the staff before Jr Highers arrive Monday morning.
There was also a bit of excitement Sunday night when the power went out for a while. Thankfully the power was restored and things are ready to go for this week!

After a long stretch of non-stop camp the staff finally got a break over the July 4th weekend. The weather has been gorgeous and it finally feels like Summer. Today marks the start of another week of camp as we await the arrival of our Trailblazers. It is bound to be an exciting and energy filled week and we look forward to what God will be doing in the lives of the campers and staff!

July Family Camp

We are right in the middle of July Family Camp and it finally feels like Summer. Yesterday was hot and sunny, a welcome change from the unseasonably cold weather we had been having. Relief from the heat and humidity came in the form of a thunder storm in the evening. Although the lightning prevented anyone from going onto the lake, some people took the opportunity to sit on the shore and watch the storm slowly roll in. It is an amazing sight to watch the lightning in the distance, listen to the thunder booming across the sky and to realize just how small we are in this world of our creator. Sometimes it takes a trip to camp to appreciate those moments.

Perhaps there will be more of those moments to come. Today is another sunny day and we will see what God has in store for us.

2011 Sr. High 1 Leave and Kids Campers Roll In

Today marks the first transition in one of our endurance stretches this Summer at Covenant Pines. Sr. High 1 leaves today and they will be going home on the buses that bring up our Kids Campers! It is definitely a change of pace for our staff but those Kids Campers require a lot of energy. Please pray for continued focus and energy for our staff. The sun is out!!! It is a gorgeous day at camp. Currently, the Powder Puff Football Game is under way. The field is more like a swamp, but there is plenty of stiff competition to go around. After that it is time for a snack and then it is time for free time! The beach will probably be busier today than it has been all week! Rain, rain go away. The rain continues to fall here at Covenant Pines. It has been a fairly cold a wet Summer so far. However, that doesn't stop the kids from playing Ga Ga ball, Dodge Ball, whip n strip or having fun at the beach. And it certainly doesn't stop Chapel from being powerful, amazing and fun.

Sr. High 1 is under way and we are all very excited. Our speaker for the week is Stephanie Williams, director of community life at Mill City Church in Minneapolis.

2011 Open Session Wrap-Up

It was great to have the Jr. Highers and Trailblazers here and God was obviously at work in big ways. We had great speakers for both sessions. Our Trailblazer speaker was Suzanne Elliott and our Jr. High Speaker was Tara Tysver.

Our staff was definitely tired at the end of the week but put a good first week in the bag. A weekend off and now they are ready for their first week of Sr. Highers.

2011 Open Session Thursday, Friday

It has continued to be a cool week here at camp but that hasn't dampened the fun or God's spirit. Ultimately, it doesn't matter what the weather is like, God is still going to do great and amazing things. This week has been no different. Wednesday night was U Turn night and you could see God at work in the kids staying after chapel to talk and pray with their counselors. It is always an exciting sight to see people of any age committing, or re-committing, their lives to Christ.

There was also plenty of fun to be had. Wednesday afternoon was our beach bash and campers enjoyed a cookout and then a variety of water activities. Free time brought with it the usual attractions such as the tower and the canteen. But the new draw seems to be our Ga Ga Ball court. Don't know what it is? You'll have to come to camp and find out!

Tonight Jr. Highers have Pines Fest! They will get to go over to Silver Beach and enjoy games, food, camp fires and music.

Open Session Tuesday and Wednesday

Camp is off to a great start. Kids are having fun and are very energetic during chapel. Tuesday had pretty good weather but gave way to rain on Wednesday. Some of the girls cabins went out to Out Camp Tuesday night but returned later due to the rain. It looks like Wednesday will see our first indoor skill times, one of which is karaoke! No matter what the weather, there are always great things to do here at Covenant Pines. Please continue to keep us in your prayers and be excited for the stories of what God is doing this summer here at camp!

Camp officially kicked off today at Covenant Pines. The start of the Summer brings with it our Open Session Camp where the grounds will be shared by Jr. High and Trailblazer campers. There is a speaker for each group as well as staff assigned to Jr. High and Trailblazers. We are very excited to finally have campers here and we can't wait to see how God shows up throughout the week!

2010 End of Youth Summer Camps

It has been a great summer. Hundreds of kids came through camp this year, played games, sang in chapel, spent time with one another and with God in his beautiful creation. New lives were dedicated to Christ and others were rededicated. It has been a challenging and powerful experience for our staff to be part of such a wonderful experience for the kids. God has continually shown his power in campers and staff alike. But as the summer has come to an end we pray that the message these kids received will continue to be with them. We pray that it continues to shape and mold them and that they would be aware that God does not live just at Covenant Pines but that he is present with them wherever they go. And please remember the staff that remains at Covenant Pines and please keep us in your prayers as we continue our ministry throughout the year as we move, yet again, towards another summer. Thanks again for all your prayers and support. God bless!

Today is one of the most exciting days for Jr. High! Today is PACK ATTACK DAY! All the cabins have been split into packs early in the week. The campers have spent time getting to know each other, put together some fun ideas and create some awesome cheers! Today they get to use them all. The Pack Attack is a giant relay race that takes place over the entire camp property. There are a variety of skills that are involved from physical skills, mental skills, crafty skills and teamwork skills. The team that puts all of them together and crosses the finish line first wins! This week is going very well! The kids are having a great time learning, playing and enjoying nature! Our speaker for the week is Mark Hakanson who is the youth pastor at Community Covenant Church. He has been doing a great job engaging the kids at chapel each night. Besides chapel the kids have been playing fun games like capture the duck and whip n strip. Today is also the start of our Pack Attack where cabins get into groups and begin planning for the big Pack Attack Relay Race at the end of the week! It has been a hot and sticky couple of days. I think everybody has taken advantage of the swimming area at least once during this weekend. Despite the high humidity we have been having lots of fun here at Covenant Pines. Last night there was a fireworks display put on by our Executive Director, Bruce Peterson, with the help of his son Mark and two of our kitchen staff Chris Proctor and Matt Gilbert. Last night we were under a tornado watch and had a few spats of heavy rain. Campers and staff went to the gym for part of the evening until the weather cleared up. Today, however, is beautiful and sunny. It is the last full day of this week but we still have some fun activities planned including the last night bon fire. Trailblazers have a staff skit show and Jr. High has the Silver Beach Bonanza!

Today has been a pretty good day. The weather was nice for our beach bash and the kids had a lot of fun. There was a slip n slide, water games on the front lawn, and games at the beach. Both Trailblazers and Jr. Highers enjoyed the rope swing, the blob, the water slide, the beach and the canteen at free time. Campers are rapping up night time chapel and still have night games and the drama tonight. We will see what happens with the weather. There could be thunderstorms.

It was an absolutely beautiful day for the first day of Senior High 2! A simple filling breakfast was followed by the cabin clean up, chapel and tools of faith. Tools of faith is a time that is special for senior high when the campers go to one of four tools of faith each day and learn more intensely about it. One, for instance is study. It stresses the importance of studying God's word, our environment, and ourselves so that we can be aware of that which is surrounding us. After tools of faith was personal devos and then the last thing before lunch was Tourney time/hang out time. There were some basketball and volleyball tournaments going on, as well as just some games for fun. Lunch and KBAR were followed by an awesome game of tube mania! After an all camp rinse in the lake there was free time for the rest of the afternoon. After dinner was cabin time and then another free time. During chapel the speaker talked about how we need to recognize God so that we can also recognize that which is not from God so we may be guided by God alone. The night game was Fugitive, and then the final event of the evening was a vespers service. It was a time for more thoughtful worship and reflection on God in our own lives.

Yay Wednesday! After the morning activities the campers got to enjoy a cook out lunch at the beach day! So fun! During KBAR they rested up and got ready for the Beach Bash where there was an ultimate show down between the boys and the girls. Through fun water activities at the beach and ball field the boys came out victorious this week, but don't worry, everybody had fun! After free time was dinner and then CHAOS, during chaos there was a few rounds of two truths and a lie, where three people tell crazy stories, and two are telling the truth, and one is stretching the truth, and the campers have to guess who is telling the lie. Afterwards was connect, which was just a time to hang out and play in the gym or volley ball or just chill before Chapel. After chapel was the evening game which was fugitive. The final event of the evening was the Drama, where the campers learned about the transforming powers of God.

What a great day at Covenant Pines! The campers woke up refreshed and ready to start their first full day. First word, which is a time for a quick devotional thought in the morning, was before breakfast. After breakfast each day the campers do some cabin clean up, which they earn cabin points for. Then it was morning chapel. During morning chapel there is worship time skits time and a daily verse, put to a popular song of the day. Personal devos time followed, and then it was skills time. Skills time is a time to learn a new talent/random activity. After lunch and KBAR (Kick Back and Relax) was the Big Game, which was the traditional and much loved Tuesday Whip N' Strip. Three of the four teams were victorious in winning a round! Free time was what took up the rest of the afternoon and the campers got the chance to pick whatever activity they wanted to participate in for as long as they wanted to participate in it! After dinner and CHAOS (mail Call) there was some cabin time and then Chapel where the campers learned about the ten commandments and how they apply to their lives today. The night game was CPBC Clue, and then it was time to head back to cabins for devos and lights out.

It was a beautiful day at CPBC. After first word/breakfast/cabin clean up, it was time for morning chapel, where the campers continued to watch the story of the crew of the S.S. Covenant Pines unfold. After personal Devos it was skill time and all of the campers enjoyed learning their new skills. After that it was lunch and KBAR, then it was the big game...which was TUBE MAINIA! The goal: Get the tubes from the center mud puddle to your side. The campers had a blast playing in the mud and winning points for their teams! Then it was free time and Dinner. It was a Deal or No Deal CHAOS and then more pack play. During pack play tonight the campers created signs to show off at the Pack Attack tomorrow. The big game was a new one called passport, and then it was time for chapel where the campers were given the opportunity to stay back and talk with their counselors or just spend some alone time with God.

After the morning, which included a skill time, it was cook out at the beach! The campers always love eating outside. After KBAR is was the beach bash, where there was the final battle between guys and girls. The girls did indeed prevail this week, and proceeded to push the boys off of the dock in a final victory. After the beach bash it was free time, it rained a little during free time, but not enough to get anybody's spirits down. Dinner and CHAOS were followed by Pack Play where the packs came up with cheers and had some good bonding. From there was Chapel and then a Big Game, which was fugitive, and then the drama, where they learned about the transforming powers of God in our lives.

The first day of JH2 was a great one! It was a little bit rainy in the morning, but that never gets us down! Breakfast was followed by Cabin clean up. Each day there is a little bit of time set aside for cabin clean up and the cabins compete to have the cleanest cabin and win points for their cabin. Then it was time for chapel. During morning chapel there is worship, a daily bible verse, and skits. During the skits today the crew of the S.S. Covenant pines set out on the voyage into space. After chapel they had some personal devo time to spend some silence with God. Then it was skills time. However, it was raining and thundering, so there were some special rainy day options, such as Bunco and Lightening/basketball, among other things. After lunch there was a bit of KBAR (Kick Back and Relax). Then, WHIP N' STRIP! This was quite an intense game of whip n' strip because the field was wet from the rain, but that just made it all the more fun for the campers. Afterwards it was free time. The campers got to have fun doing whatever they wanted around camp for a couple of hours. When dinner was done, there was mail call, and tonight was night one of Deal or No Deal CPBC Style. Then it was pack play. During Jr. High camps the cabins are split into different colored Packs and they spend time together each day to prepare for the Pack Attack on friday. Then it was time for Chapel. After chapel was the Night game which today was Capture the Duck. An old camp tradition. Afterwards it was time to head back to the cabins for cabin devos and some good sleep.

It was a fun filled final full day of TB2! Though still sort of chilly, nothing can stop CPBC from pulling out all of the stops! The morning was the same as the others, though no less wonderful. The Big game today was CPBC Space Clue. The campers had to follow clues to different characters hidden around camp. The campers took every opportunity they could to participate in camp activities during free time. Including swimming and red sharking, despite the chilly weather. During CHAOS tonight, Egg man came to visit. He told quite the story about eggs, and then a camper proceeded to egg a staff member. From there the campers went to a new event, which is the end of the week camp fire. They were split up into different groups to go and make smores at campfires, and just hang out and talk about how great their week at camp was! The staff skit show was another special event for the evening. The campers got to kick back and watch some pretty funny skits be performed for them. Then it was the final evening chapel of the week. The speaker told them about how the holy spirit places special gifts in us, and that we are to use them to glorify God. Finally, it was bonfire time, and they had the opportunity to share about all of the wonderful things they learned about God this week. Then it was back to cabins for devos and lights out.

For first word today the campers heard the story of Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, and the importance of bowing and worshipping only God instead of idols. Then after breakfast was cabin clean up, followed by Chapel where there was some worship and skits. Following personal devos was Skill time. The sun came out for skill time and the campers had fun learning some new things. Lunch and KBAR were a great time to rest up and energize for the big game which was safari! The campers chased wild animals around camp trying to capture them to win points for the cabin. Then it was free time. During CHAOS tonight, one lucky camper got to play Deal or No Deal CPBC style. Though there was only one contestant, ALL of the campers had fun participating and encouraging the camper to pick the right envelope. Thursday Cabin time was followed by the Evening game which was a new one called Passport. Then it was Chapel where we talked about the promptings and the voice of the Holy Spirit and the different ways that he talks to us, and how because of that we have to be willing to respond to it. Then it was back to the cabin for devos and some sweet dreams.

Day two of clouds, but clouds NEVER stop fun from happening at CPBC. The morning was the same as yesterday except for there was cabin time instead of skills time. The cabins had the opportunity to do some fun stuff around camp with their cabin groups, it's such a great bonding time. Lunch was at the beach today, we had a cook out! The campers loved getting to eat outside instead of the dinning hall. After KBAR (Kick Back and Relax) the beach bash commenced. The campers had fun playing games like water kick ball and grease the pig. All of the options were open for free time so the campers were nice and hungry for dinner! During CHAOS there were some crazy games, possibly including doughnuts, and then there was a little bit of down time, an outside of the cabin KBAR so to speak. Then it was Chapel, which was so great. The speaker told the campers about the holy spirit and how he is always there encouraging us when we think we can't go any further. After the night game, which was fugitive it was the drama, where they were told four stories of God's transforming power. Then it was back to cabins for devos and lights out.

It was a very unexpected first day of TB2. I'm going to be honest, it rained most of the day, but that didn't stop us from having a great day anyways! The morning went on as usual. It started raining during skills time, but since there was no thunder, some of the skills classes got to stay outside and play in the rain, which was really fun for the campers. It stopped raining shortly after lunch and stayed nice just long enough for an afternoon game of Whip N' Strip! The campers loved it and were SO glad to get the chance to play. Shortly after the game it started to rain again. However, all of the free time activities were open still except for the water activities. After that was dinner and CHAOS. After chaos it started to down pour. So we backed up chapel and chilled in the dinning hall and watched nemo until the rain let up, just in time for chapel. Chapel was awesome, as we learned more about the Holy Spirit and his presence in our lives. After that was a quick night game, and then back to the cabins for devos and lights out.

After breakfast and cabin clean up, the campers went to chapel. During the skits today the french voyagers and the space voyagers helped each other fix their ships. After personal devos we had a morning game, which was Sock-O! Today it was pack vs. pack, which was a great way to get the campers pumped up for the pack attack. From there we went to a really tasty lunch, and then off to our cabins for a short KBAR. For the rest of KBAR we prepared for the pack attack. By finishing signs, getting decked out in pack colors using clothing and plenty of paint. Then, It was pack attack time. The competition was fierce, kids ran faster, biked harder, recited verses more quickly, and carried water with more skill than I have ever seen. The white team came first and black was second. But, the best part of the pack attack was that after teams crossed the finish line, all of the campers began cheering the other teams on as they prepared to cross the finish line. It was so encouraging to see all of the campers lift each other. After that was free time and then dinner. During CHAOS an old friend called Egg Man visited the campers. Then it was cabin time. The final cabin time of the week, which is always so fun because by then cabins have bonded. Two cabins even succeeded in participating in all of the activities of camp in the one hour of cabin time. The record has now been set. After that was a coffee house time. We had some live music and the coffee shop open and just a chill time. Then it was chapel where the speaker talked about all of the gifts that we have and the ways that we can encourage each other. From there was the end of the week bonfire and then back to cabins for devos and sleep.

First word, breakfast and cabin clean up led into chapel. During chapel there was some worship time, and then skits. During skits today the space voyagers time traveled back to the dawn of exploration on the canadian frontier. They ran into a little trouble understanding the french voyagers, but luckily, they were able to use the translator to understand each other. Then there was some personal devo time and cabin time. After lunch and KBAR the big game was Guerilla Warfare. The purpose of guerilla warfare is for the campers to find the general who is hiding somewhere in the woods...while not getting their sock pulled by the guerillas (staff). Free time was the rest of the afternoon and then it was dinner. During CHAOS the campers got to go play in the gym. There was one last pack play to prepare for the pack attack so packs made signs and worked on cheers. The evening game was fugitive, after which was Chapel. Tonight the campers had the opportunity to give their lives to Christ, as they were told the story of the sacrifice of the Cross. From there we headed back to cabins for devos and then went to bed.

Today was an even more beautiful day than yesterday! After the usual morning schedule, the campers got ready for a cook out lunch at the beach. Once they were fed and rested it was time for the beach bash, where it was an ultimate show down between boys and girls. The girls ended up dominating the boys, but there was still a lot of fun and fair play. Free time and then dinner were followed by Chaos. During pack play the campers got to pick what activity they wanted to participate in for the pack attack which will happen on friday and from there we went to chapel. Afterwards there was a night game and then the drama. During the drama the campers heard four different stories of transformation and how God Changes lives every day.

It was a beautiful first full day of Junior High 1. The sun was shinning and the campers were bright with excitement for the day! Before breakfast was First Word where one of the staff members shares a small devotional thought for the morning. Then off to breakfast, where we had some tasty cinnamon rolls! After breakfast was cabin clean up. Each day the campers clean up their cabins and throw in a little creativity and they win points if their cabin is the cleanest and most creative. From there was Chapel where there was some worship time and skits time. After personal devos was cabin time and then lunch. KBAR (Kick Back and Relax) followed lunch so that the campers could get some energy for the afternoon activities. The big game of the day was Whip n' Strip, and though all of the teams put up a good fight, the blue team ended up victorious! There was free time for the rest of the afternoon, and since it was such a beautiful day all of the activities were open for the campers to partake in. After playing hard all afternoon it was finally time for a tasty dinner, which was followed by CHAOS! (or mail call) During chaos we heard a great story and played some messy, but quite entertaining games...some involving frosting and ice cream. Pack play was the next event of the evening. During junior high the cabins are split into co-ed groups to form packs and through the week they will meet as packs to prepare for the pack attack which will take place on friday. Following pack play was chapel where the speaker told us about equipping ourselves for the journey and then the final event of the evening was the night game which was Light the Fire. After which the campers headed back to their cabins, had some end of the day devos, and snuggled deep into their beds for a wonderful night's sleep.

Seriously beautiful day at camp. The morning went on as usual and today one of the tools of faith was simplicity. They talked about the extremes of having too much money to having no money, and how simplicity can lie somewhere in between those two extremes. Also, they were challenged to think about their rooms and what they keep in there, and how much of it is really vital in their lives. After cabin time, lunch, and KBAR was the big game, which was Guerilla Warfare. The campers went searching through the woods for 'the general' while the Guerillas (staff) tried to stop them from completing their mission. Then it was free time till dinner. After dinner the male staff took on the male campers in a friendly yet competitive round or two of dodgeball. There was some advanced playing from both sides, as both teams clearly used their best dodgeball skills. Afterwards there was a coffee house/free time where some of the staff members played some music while the campers hung out. Chapel tonight was about the rescue. Some were rescued, some were reminded of their rescue, and some were challenged to begin thinking about if they want to be rescued. But ultimately, the point was, that Jesus wants our whole life to be filled with him, and he can make that happen in the midst of everything if we allow him to.

Breakfast, cabin clean up and chapel, went on as usual. The campers then went to day two of tools of faith. Prayer is another tool of faith that the campers will learn about this week. During the time they went over the ACTS (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication) Structure of prayer, as well as talking about the different ways to pray. Letting the campers know that prayer isn't just folding your hands and bowing your heads at meals and before bed, but that prayer is something that you can do in any capacity and by any means; journaling, singing, communally etc. Prayer can be a way of life, an attitude that you carry with you at all times. A nice long cabin time was followed by lunch. It was cook out day so we had hamburgers and brats out on fireside lawn. After KBAR was the big game which, today, was whip n' strip. Two hours of free time and dinner led into an old and much loved senior high tradition, Powder Puff Football. The female staff take on the female campers for a intense, but still very fun, game of football. It's always a close game, but this time the staff won by one touchdown. From there we headed to chapel where the topic for the night was being lost. The speaker challenged the campers to take time between chapel tonight and chapel tomorrow night, to think about if there are areas in their lives where they are lost, where they are not surrendering to God. After a little bit of free time it was the drama. The campers traveled around camp and heard different stories of transformation through God's power, and God's power only.

The day started out very warm, which is great, we all love warm summer days! Breakfast was scones, and after cabin clean up they campers headed to chapel where they had a time of worship, learned a verse, and heard more of the story of the skit characters on the s.s. covenant pines spaceship. Afterwards they were to Tools of Faith, which is a unique thing to the senior high camping program. Each day the campers learn about a different tool of faith. One of them is solitude. They learned the importance of spending time alone with God, because being alone with God enables us to be fully available when we are around other people. Tourney time was the last thing before lunch. The campers were able to sign up for different things in which they would like to compete, such as basketball, ping pong, and volleyball. Lunch and KBAR (Kick Back and Relax) were followed by the Big Game which was SOCK-O! However, it was cut short for the potential of severe weather, so the campers just got to hang out in the gym for a little while until the storm blew over. Free time was a little rainy, but that didn't stop them from having good times. Dinner and Chaos (Mail call), where Egg Man showed up, led into cabin time. Cabin time is when each of the cabins get to pick an activity to do with just their cabin. It is a great opportunity to bond and grow as a cabin. A little bit of down time and then some chapel. During chapel the speaker talked about how after we prepare for the journey we have to actually embark on it. We have to start the journey. We can't just sit and be prepared or all of our preparation goes to waste. The night game was fugitive, and then it was back to cabins for devos and lights out.

The weather was beautiful for our last full day of camp, and trust me, the campers soaked the beautiful weather and the opportunities of camp up like nobody's business. They had a great morning similar to the other mornings, and after lunch and kbar was the big game...TUBE TIME! One of the favorites of the campers because they get to run and splash in a huge mud puddle in the middle of the ball field! After free time and dinner the campers were visited by a special much loved guest.....EGG MAN! Oh yes, it's true, Egg Man is back. The campers had SO much fun cheering on egg man and his contestants. The evening game was ultimate frisbee golf madness. Then the staff skit show where the campers got to sit back and enjoy as the staff entertained them with funny skits. At the final evening chapel they listened to the story of David and Goliath. Afterwards they headed down to the amphitheater for the end of the week bonfire where they had the opportunity to share all of the different things that they learned during the week. Then, back to the cabin for a quick devos and then lights out.

The mornings went on as usual, including the last skills time of the week. After lunch and KBAR was the big game which was the much loved Whip n' Strip. After quite a long time of running to get cones and pulling socks the red team prevailed by getting all four of the cones in their corner. Afterwards was free time. It was a little overcast during the afternoon but that was no hinderance to participating in all of the awesome camp activities. Dinner was pretty much a thanksgiving meal in June, and the campers watched some crazy chaos games with full happy tummies. Cabin time was followed by the evening big game, which was CPBC clue. The campers were given clues to the location of different space characters who were hiding around camp, and they had to find the characters and retrieve their signatures. he first cabin to get all the signatures in order won! During chapel tonight they were told the story of when Jesus cast demons out of the man in the graveyard into the pigs in a nearby field. They were told this story because it shows the healing and life changing powers of Jesus, and the fact that He cannot be defeated, and Jesus will change us. The story ended with the man who was healed going to others and telling them all about what God had done, and because of him, others believed. They were challenged to live lives changed by Christ and to go and tell others about what God has done. Then they walked back to their cabin, had cabin devos, and were lulled to sleep by a comforting rain storm.

Well, there was no rain today! The morning schedule was the same as yesterday with the exception of cabin time instead of skills time. Lunch was a cookout outside at the beach/playground today! The campers loved being able to eat outside! After K-BAR was the beach bash where it was an epic challenge between the boys and the girls. The boys won, but the girls put up a really good fight and everybody had fun! Free time was the rest of the afternoon and then dinner. During CHAOS tonight the campers played some improv games and had the opportunity to share some of their best jokes. Chapel followed where we heard the story of Samson The final event of the evening was the drama, during which the kids were taken back in time to experience three stories of transformation in the bible. Then it was devo and bed time.

Well, it started out a little big rainy here at CPBC. It wasn't enough to get us down though! After a delicious breakfast the campers got their cabins all cleaned up and headed off to chapel where they learned the verse of the day and got to hear more of the skit story. This year the crew of the s.s. covenant pines have received mysterious gifts from G.O.D. and they have just set out on a journey to figure out how to use them. The rain let up during chapel so we were able to be outside for the rest of the day. The remainder of the morning consisted of personal devotions and skills time. The first day the kids signed up for different skills time activities, and through the week they will have the opportunity to do a few of them. Skills times range from cookie baking to sailing to climbing and everything in between. Lunch followed up by K-BAR (Kick Back and Relax) energized the kids for the big game which was SAFARI! The staff turned into different exotic animals and the campers had a blast running around camp capturing the different animals and searching for the treasure! Free time followed and the campers had the opportunity to take advantage of all of the different fun activities that camp offers! Following dinner was CHAOS (Mail call). Cabin time was a great opportunity for the campers to go with their cabin to a fun activity and have some awesome bonding time. The final two events of the evening were chapel (where the speaker told us about the story of Gideon and the 300 soldiers) and the night game: Find the Fire. Then the campers headed back to their cabins, had some cabin devotions reflecting on the day, and snuggled into their beds for some sweet dreams.

Welcome to Summer 2009 at Covenant Pines Bible Camp!

Oh man, it is going to be a great summer here. The staff arrived today and we are already (and have been for quite some time now) been VERY excited for this summer. We have been keeping your campers and all of the people involved with camp in our prayers, and we are confident that it will be one incredible summer.

1 Peter 4:10 says "God has given gifts to each of you from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Manage them well so that God's generosity can flow through you."

This summer campers will come to camp, I mean they will voyage into space, and learn about the was that God has blessed each of them individually with the gifts that he always planned on giving them!

It will be a great summer, continue to keep us in prayer as we will continue to keep you and your campers in prayer.

Get excited for your adventures. God will do great things, as he always does!

How can it be that another summer has already flown by…and God has proven his unending faithfulness to Covenant Pines once again. The summer stared two months ago when the summer staff arrived, and though the first day may have been admittedly a little awkward, God quickly began moving among us and bringing us together to form a community what a heart and mind towards Christ. He began to prepare us to be sidekicks in his work that he has planned for the summer. Youth camps then began coming and going faster than we could comprehend, and God moved, his spirit swept through this place like a mighty wind. God is all around us, he surrounds us no matter where we are, and since he cannot be contained in any form, our faith cannot be either. As campers came up this summer, they entered an environment that had no containment in their pursuit of faith and truth and ultimately God. Tough questions were asked, and struggles were endured, but God worked in all of those times. Of course the summer was full of incredible times as well. The tough questions were answered, and God made his presence obvious to us, and campers decided to ask Christ to be part of their lives, and they will never be the same. Yes, God does move, He is everywhere and constant, and he is moving in the lives of His people. Matthew 10:39 says, ‘if you cling to your life, you will loose it, but if you give up your life for me you will find it.’ This summer we found the Ultimate Hero, and along with that discovery we found new life in Him and a way to live, truly live, the life of sidekicks for the Hero that moves so powerfully among his people.

So as we close out the summer continue to pray for the campers that as they went home they were able to find a community of people to uplift them in the change that God worked in them this summer. Pray also for the campers whom God is still perusing, and that he will make himself very evident to them, and that they will have no doubt in them that Christ is their Savior. Also, continue to pray for the ministry of Covenant Pines and that as we continue to peruse God’s direction that he will continue to be faithful to us.

Today we gave the senior highers the opportunity to sleep in a little bit since we have been keeping them up so late the other nights. They enjoyed the extra hour of sleep and when 10:00 rolled around they got a tasty brunch of egg dish, scones, granola, yogurt, fresh fruit...you know, everything good and tasty that you would want in the morning. The day went on as usual, just an hour later, and then there was snack at 2:00. After snack the rest of the afternoon was free time, but the camp closed down around 5:30 so that everybody could get ready for the banquet. Banquet night is one of the campers favorite night because it gives them a chance ot dress up and celebrate their years at camp. THere was a little bit of free time, and then a camper talent show. Chapel and then bonfire closed out the evening, and then they headed back to their cabins for cabin devos and went to bed for a good night's sleep :) before the bus ride home the next day.

It was a great day here at CPBC. The sun was shining all day and God was at work. After the morning activities, the cabins got to hang out doing some sweet activities during cabin time. Then lunch and some time to rest up during KBAR for the big game of GUERILLA WARFARE! The campers were so pumped to play one of their favorite camp games. Afterwards was free time untill dinner, then after dinner it was time for Chapel. The speaker gave us some pretty moving illustrations of the different ways that God frees us from doubt, shame, and desires, and pulls us into His Love. After chapel was some chill time and the coffee shop was open, and then it was time for the drama that showed the campers about the different ways that God shows/continues to show his revolutionary love. From there we headed back o up to chapel for a vespers service to celebrate Jesus and how he is the Light of the world.

It was a pretty chill morning for the campers...with cabin clean up, chapel and practices untill 12:15...when the boys staff took on the boy campers in an intense game of dodgeball. Unlike Powder Puff on tuesday, male staff beat the boys in a four game show down. After working up appitites, the camp headed over to fireside lawn for a hamburger cook out. It was fun for the campers to just hang out on the lawn on a beautiful day and enjoy a meal outside. after kbar was the big game, which was Sock O, the ultimate sock game, and then free time fort he rest of thea fternoon. Dinner was followed by a cabin time and some coffee house. THen the last event of the evening was Chapel, where the campers were given an opportunity to take some time to just sit with God or ask questions and talk with a staff member about those questions. Then the campers headed back to their cabins for a good night's rest.

It was an awesome day for the Senior High 2 Campers! The campers got to sleep in a little bit and instead of the normal 8:15 breakfast, their breakfast started at 8:45! The morning was cabin clean up and chapel. Then it was a practices, which is a senior high exclusive. After chapel each day they go to one of four practices and learn about things that we can do as christians to foster the community around us. Then it was personal devo time followed by cabin time. Lunch and KBAR were followed by an extreme game of WHIP N' STRIP! then the rest of the afternoon was free time. a 6:00 dinner was followed by some chill time and then the much anticipated POWDER PUFF GAME! Much to the campers delight...they won. But it was a great game, and both teams played very well! Chapel was next followed by a very hard core game of FUGITIVE! Oh yes, the campers searched high and low for the escaped fugitives (staff) through the dark camp ground. Then it was back to cabins for devos and lights out.

what a great day for the junior highers! The morning started out the same as the other days this week except the big game was in the morning. We played Ultimate Frisbee Golf Bonanza! After Lunch (where there was some serious Pack Pride going on) and some rest time the campers got prepared for the Pack Attack! Then...2:30 Rolled around, and it was ON! The campers and staff got SO into it as the Packs Attacked! The Black Pack won, but all of the Packs had such a blast! The rest of the afternoon was free time, and then it was dinner. During CHAOS they had one last visit from Egg man, and then they had one more long cabin time. It was so fun for the cabins to hang out together after spending the week playing, growing, and learning together! Then it was time for the final evening chapel. All of the verses were reviewed, we heard a staff testimony, and then the speaker told us about David and the courage it took to figh Goliath, but How God was with him the whole time. Then we closed out the evening with the bonfire, and the campers had the opportunity to share with us what they learned through the week, and the resolutions they made for when they got back home. Then off to their cabins for one last cabin devos, and some rest for the ride home tomorrow.

The day started out kind of chilly today and so most people were wearing sweatshirts or long sleeves to breakfast. However, after the campers cleaned their cabins and went to chapel and had some personal devo times it had cleared up and warmed up a good deal and it was a beautiful day for skills time! After skills time the campers gathered at the playground for beach bash let in. After a cook out lunch it was KBAR and then pack play. The packs had their final opportunity to prepare for tomorrow's Pack Attack, so they polished off their cheers, assigned stations, and pumped up the pack spirit! Then it was beach bash time. The Aqua 5 (lifeguards) rode in on the red shark and then sent the cabins off to train to become heros! The rest of the afternoon was free time followed by dinner and CHAOS (mail call) Chapel was next and the speaker talked about suiting up for life and following GOd's lead no matter what the cost. The night game was go for the gusto and from there the campers went into Oak Ridge for the drama, which talked about the revolutionary Love of Jesus.

What a wonderful day it was here at CPBC! The campers had basically the same morning as yesterday with the only difference being cabin time at 11:15 instead of skills time. After lunch and KBAR it was pack play again! The campers are really getting some pack pride, which will make for an exciting pack attack on friday. The big game today was Guerilla Warfare, which the campers enjoy greatly because instead of running around in the ballfield, they get to run through the woods in search of the general to win points for their cabin. The rest of the afternoon was free time and then it was a tasty pasta dinner! During CHAOS (mail call) Deal or no Deal was back by popular demand. Afterwards was connect and then an evening game of find the fire. Chapel was the final event of the evening and through staff testimony and the speaker's talk the campers were informed of just who precious God thinks we are, and how much he gave up for us through his son so that we could be called his children.

It was a beautiful first day for JH3. The sun was out, and it was warm, but we were blessed with a nice breeze to keep us from over heating. The day started out with the most important meal of the day, which today happened to be breakfast sandwitches, and some really yummy plums! Then it was cabin clean up. Each day the campers clean up their cabins, both for general cleanliness reasons, and for points on the point board, the cabins that are the cleanest and maybe add a little bit of a creative element to their cleaning get points for their cabin which can potentially win them something at the end of the week. Then they went to chapel and had a great time worshipping, leaning a new bible verse, and watching the always funny skit for the day. From there they went to do some personal devotion time. Which is a time for campers to spend one on one with God before the wonderful craziness of the day starts. The final activity of the day before lunch was skills time. The campers were assigned to areas of camp to participate in a new skill or sharpen their already existing skills in concentrated areas. For example, archery, diving, soccer, card making, etc. After lunch was an hour of KBAR and then it was the first pack play of the week. Pack Play is a new activity this year. The cabins are split up into five different 'packs' and each pack has a color, and they spend time together each day hanging out with the three other cabins in their pack, and they make up a cheer, and play some awesome games, and then at the end of the week, on friday, we have the pack attack, which is a big relay race all through camp where the packs compete against eachother. The big game for the day was whip n' strip...a classic, and the campers had so much fun playing the game hard core. The rest of the afternoon was free time, and then it was off to dinner to fuel our bodies after such a busy afternoon. During CHAOS (or, mail call) the campers got a little bit messy. They played games such as Egg Man, yes, the camp legend; and Mystery Bucket. Then there was some connect time, which is like the after dinner KBAR but only for a half hour. And then it was off to chapel for worship, verse review, staff testimony, and speaker. The speaker talked about samson tonight, and how samson's strength really wasn't from his hair, but from God. The night game was fugitive, and then it was back to the cabin for devotions and some good sleep!

WOO HOO TB3 Friday! The campers morning was same as the last three days, but the campers loved every minute of it.From breakfast to cabin clean up and chapel (where Marvin the woodpecker showed up!) Skills time was during the morning, and it was such a perfect day for all of the skils classes to take place! Lunch and then it was KBAR followed by the last cabin time, which the campers had a blast with, and then it was the Big Game, SAFARI! The campers seriously enjoyed chasing the staff turned wild animals around camp to capture them and gain points for their cabin. All of the free time options were busy today in the last two hours before dinner. CHAOS had another visit from Egg Man, and then it was a little bit of connect time which led into staff skit show. The campers had a blast seeing their favorite couselors in some crazy skits, some messy ones, and some cleaner, yet very amusing ones! They headed straight up to chapel from there! There was some high energy worship at chapel tonight! The end of the week bonfire followed, and it took place in the ampitheatre. The campers had the opportunity to share with everybody all of the things that they learned through the week! It was made clear that God moved in the hearts of the campers this week.

10:45 Lights Out

The day started out as kind of rainy, but that didn't get us down! The morning went on as usual, and instead of skills time this morning we had rainy day activity time. The campers got split into four groups and went to different buildings in camp for different fun and exciting rainy day actities. Then it was lunch and though lunch wasn't oustide, we still had some fun beach bash style let in. After KBAR there was some cabin time, and even though the sky was still over cast all of the planned activities went on for cabin time. The beach bash today was a sweet game of tube mania! Free time was followed by dinner which was followed by CHAOS which consisted of a new mail call game. Connect time led into Chapel and the campers had a blast worshipng and going over all the verses. The big game was relocated to the gym because of the very muddy condition of the ball field. And then the final event of the evening was the drama which shared with the campers about how much Jesus Truly does love us and the many different ways that he shows his love.

Seriously, God has liked beautiful weather this week! It was another perfect day here at CPBC. Today during skills the campers got new skill classes to partake in, and they enjoyed experiencing a new part of camp! Lunch and KBAR were followed by cabin time and then a new game. The name of the game you my ask...Don't Get the Counelor Wet! Each cabin had to protect their counselor from the impeeding water with cardboard and whatever else they chould come up with to create a shiled for their counselor. It was a hit with the campers on this warm day! The rest of the day was free time and then dinner and chaos. During Chaos another lucky camper got to partake in Deal or No Deal, and ended up making a deal and winning a popcorn party and a free item from the canteen! After connect was the final event of the evening which was chapel and the campers heard about the salvation that Jesus Christ offers us through his death on the Cross and his resurrection!

God certianly blessed us with a beautiful tuesday for TB3. It was warm and sunny and the sky was a beautiful blue. The day started off with a great french toast sticks breakfast, and from there headed into a daily morning here at covenant pines. Cabin clean up, chapel, and personal devotions. Skill time was the last activity of the morning. Skill time is a chance for the campers to get assinged to groups where they can learn new skills such as archery, soccer, and diving among many other things, or where they can improve on a skill that they already have. Lunch and KBAR energized the campers for the afternoon when they had cabin time followed by a big game, which was WHIP n' STRIP! All time favorite camp game for many many people. The rest of the afternoon was free time, and since it was such a beautiful day all of the options were open to the campers. They had so much fun exploring camp and all of the posibilities available to them during free time. After dinner was CHAOS which here at camp is really Mail call. During this time the campers play some fun games that usually end up with a staff member being pretty messy. The two games tonight were egg man (a camp legend) and honey face (a new one!) After dinner it was connect time, which is just some down time between dinner and chapel for the campers to hang out with eachother outside of their cabins. Then it was chapel where we had some worship and verse review, and a staff testimony which was about being yourself and being ok with that! Afterwards it was the game, which was FUGIIVE! The campers had so much fun finding crazy characters and bringing them back to the 'jail' to get points for their cabins. Then it was back to cabins for cabin devotions, which is a wrap up of the day, and then off to bed to rest for the day ahead.

Alrighty, here's the Deal, Junior High 2 was sweet! Even though it rained today it ended on a great note. After an incredible last night, with the most amazing hallelujah EVER, the morning came with lots of energy. Flag raising and breakfast were great, and then the campers did their part to clean up camp. All of the cabins were assigned different areas of camp to clean up, and now camp looks excellent. Then they headed back to their cabins to pack up and get ready to head home. The big event of the day was chapel. It was a wrap up time for everything that had happened this week. There was some great worship time, and then the wrap up of the skits where Duct Tape Deon and Matt went through some pretty big changes since friday. we learned a final verse and the speaker wraped up the week in an awesome encouraging way for the campers. Then it was lunch time and the campers headed home after a send off blessing from the staff. Get ready to welcome your camper home and hear some awesome stories from them!

It was a excellent friday for Junior High 2. It was beautiful weather, the sun was out, and the temperature was just right to enjoy all of the sweet activies that Camp has to offer. The morning went along swimmingly with the usual scedule and thens ome skills time. After lunch was KBAR and the campers got stoked for the PACK ATTACK! The campers were SOOO excited and into their team spirit. At lunch all of the teams had a cheer show down to show off the sweet cheers their packs had come up with. The blue team ended up winning the Pack Attack, but all of the campers had an awesome time participating. The Big game of the day was guerilla Warfare, the campers loved that game as they got to run around in the woods looking for the general, and trying not to get caught by the staff members. THe reat of the afternoon was free time followed by dinner then CHAOS> Cabin time was the evening activity, and the campers had so much fun hanging out with their cabins for the last time before the week was over. Talking about the week and all of the fun stuff that they did. Then it was chapel and the closing bonfire where the campers had the opportunity to share what sorts of things they learned about this week. Afterwards, it was off to cabins for cabin devos and lights out so that they could get a good rest for the journey home tomorrow.

It was a typically awesome Junior High Morning with breakfast, cabin clean up, chapel and personal devos. The physical activity for the morning was the final offical pack play. The campers assigned themselves to their stations for the pack attack tomorrow, perfected their cheers, and just had a great time hanging out. Lunch was supposed to be at the beach, but that was unable to happen because of a random dounpour of rain...But there was still an incredible beach style let in at the dinning hall. It rained during most of KBAR but then the sky cleared up just for the beach bash at 2:00. Therefore, the beach bash was a smashing success, as the campers enjoyed playing some fun water games, and having the opportunity to cover their counselors in paint. The rest of the afternoon was free time. It was a little bit longer free time than normal, but the campers had a blast getting to do whatever they wanted! Dinner followed, and then some CHAOS with a sweet new mail call game. Afterwards was connect time and then chapel. In Chapel the cameprs got to suit up the speaker and make her into a super hero. The night game was Go for the Gusto, which the campers enjoyed greatly, and then they headed towards the drama to learn about the revolutionary Love of Jesus Christ.

The morning went along as camp mornings usually do. There was a little bit of rain right before lunch so they had to move the outdoor skills times inside, but the campers still had a blast doing inside activities. Then after lunch God cleared up the sky for pack play and the big game which was SOCK O, and that went incredibly well. The rest of the afternoon was free time,a nd God continued to hold off the rain, which was great. Dinner was followed by a CPBC style Deal or no deal CHAOS. From there was connect then the sweetest evening game called Find the Fire...oh yes, it was great. Then it was chapel/U Turn Night. The campers learned about how Death + Jesus = life...and if we choose to live for him and let him be thel aeders of our lives that he will give us a life better than we could even begin to imagine.

It was a great full day to start off with for Junior High two. After the morning activities, which included chapel and a great skit, as well as cabin time, they went onwards to lunch. For an hour after lunch they just had some Kick Backa nd Relax time, and got energized for the events of the afternoon. The first even was pack play, which is new this summer. How it works is the cabins are split up into five groups of mixed boys and girls cabins, and they become packs and they spend time together each day hanging out and having some fun doing all the great activites there are to do here at camp. The game of the afternoon was Whip N' Strip. It was a pretty awesome game which everybody got into. However, because of this, it was a tie game, but that's not what is important, the main thing is that everybody LOVED it. The rest of the afternoon was free time, and it was super fun for the campers to have the first chance of the week to go and do wahtever they wanted to. By the end of the two hour free time everybody was ready for some dinner. During Mail Call/CHAOS the campers got to play Honey Face and Egg Man...and the original egg man, the camp legend himself was there. From there they went to a time called connect, which is also new to the summer. It's just a little bit of down time when the campers get to chill for a while between dinner and the next activity. Then it was chapel, where we learned about sin and how it effects our lives, and then the final activity of the night was fugitive. It was quite the game with some fugitives that you wouldn't expect, like Indiana Jones, Henry Jones and Shorty, as well as Little Red Riding Hood and Granny, and Scooby Doo! Yup, some pretty famous people showed up for our game of fugitive. Then it was off to the cabins for devotions, a time tor eflect on the Day and learn more about God, and then off to bed to rest up for the next day.

Friday Senior High 2

It was a great last day for senior high two. The campers got the chance to sleep in untill brunch which began at 10:00 am. They loved the fact that they got to get some extra rest. The rest of the morning went on as usual, cabin clean up, chapel, practices, and Personal devotions. Then at 2:00 they had a snack/lunch. The remainder of the afternoon was free time. It was a pretty relaxed day for the campers. Then a little before six the whole camp got ready for the senior high banquet, which is quite the classy affair. The campers enjoyed their meal very much. Desert ended up being served in the gym, because of severe weather, but the campers made the best of it. Once the warnings expired we headed off to the chapel for the talent show and Chapel. In chapel the speaker told about how we may think people interrupt our lives, but really God may be putting them there as an opportunity to tell them about Jesus...and we need to keep aware and be glad for those opportunities. From chapel we went to an inside bonfire, and then it was off to bed so they could be well rested to come home the next day.

The day started off as usual with the most important meal of the day, breakfast. And the rest of the morning went on as usual for senior highers. that is, untill 12:15 when the male staff took on the male campers in a game of dodgeball. It was an intense four rounds, but the campers ended up winning. Lunch was out on fireside lawn today, it was a good old fashioned cook out with hamburgers and all the fixings. The rest of the afternoon was free time. Dinner and CHAOS (mail call) were followed by a big game in the ball field of SOCK O. Then there was some down time with a coffee house in fireside and some basketball and carpetball tournaments in the gym. CHapel was the final event of the evening, and then it was off to cabins for some Devos and then to bed.
