It was quite a great day for the campers to do something a little bit different than every day scedule at camp. The morning started out kind of drizzly, so instead of outside let in we had a special Finding Nemo Let in at breakfast. During Chapel the sky cleared right up and with no clouds in sight the campers participated in their last Pack Play time. Along with the activity of camp that they were at, they had to decide who was doing what in the Pack Challange that will take place tomorrow evening. Lunch was at the beach today with let in being led by the Aqua 5 (the lifeguards) and then KBAR was followed by the beach bash during which the campers got to play some awesome water games, as well as paint a super hero logo on their counselor. The rest of the afternoon the campers had the opportunity to spend in free time. With an hour longer of free time they had more independance in choosing what they were going to do with their day. Dinner was noodles followed by another deal or no deal CHAOS where a lucky camper won the best option up on the board. Chapel was awesome, as usual, the campers are really staring to know the memory verses for the week! The night game, Go for the Gusto, was a new one to camp, and of course, involved a sock...as most of the camp games do! The final activity of the evening was the Drama, speaking to the kids about the revolutionary Love of God, and reminding them that no matter who they are or what they've been through God will always have incredible amounts of Love towards them, which is always a great reminder to have.

It certianly was a full day of camp! It was the most beautiful day yet this summer, and we at CPBC enjoyed it to the fullest. Breakfast was tasty cinnamon rolls and eggs, and then the morning flew by quickly untill Skills time, the first one of the week. The campers enjoyed learning how to do new things some things specific to a camp setting, and some skills that they can take home with them and practice outside of camp. Regardless, they all have stories to tell about their new skills. Lunch followed by KBAR was a good preparation for the afternoon, which began with pack play. Again, this is where three cabins spend time hanging out together during the week getting to know eachother. Then the game today was SOCK-O. The puropse...to take another person's sock off their foot, for how simple the game is, the campers LOVE it! The rest of the afternoon was free time, and most everybody was outside enjoying the incredible weather! Dinner was highly anticipated because of all the energy that was used during the afternoon and then during CHAOS a few rounds of Deal or No Deal CPBC style were played. Since it was "U-turn" night the game came before chapel and the campers played "Find the Fire" Then they headed up to chapel, followed by some awesome worship and a staff testimony the speaker told us about Peter and how he denied Jesus three times before the rooster crowed, and then Jesus asked him three times if Peter loved him...the point being, there are times when we say we love Jesus, but maybe we aren't letting him truly have control of our lives and we aren't letting God make the most of the love we have for him, but overall, we must follow him, and continue trusting him to guide us right as we surrender to his will.

It was a great day here at CPBC. The sun came out with few clouds and the air warmed up. There was a tasty nutrient giving breakfast as well as chapel, where two of the skit characters broke off from the rest of the group because she wanted to control people, so we'll see how that ends up going for them. Cabin time was the last activity of the morning, the campers went to different areas around camp and participated in sweet activities, there may have even been a cabin challange. Lunch led into a crazy awesome afternoon. This week we started a new activity time called Pack Play and what happens is three cabins buddy up, boys and girls mixed, and they spend a little bit of time almost every day with those cabins through the week. It really helps in getting campers to know people from other cabins. So they go to different parts of camp, play games and then just participate in activities such as climbing tower, swimming, and volleyball. The big game today was Whip N' Strip to the excitement of many, it was quite an intense game, everbody played their hardest! Free time was two hours leading into dinner, and then CHAOS, where they played Egg Man! (an all time camp favorite) Chapel was the main part of the evening, with some sweet worship, a great testimony about how we don't have to live our lives alone, there are always people who will walk with us, and then the speaker who spoke of how we all sin, but it's not the end, we can choose goodness always. To close out the night, we played a rousing game of fugitive. With many characters such as a lost boy, four square, and the blob, the campers had a great time capturing run aways and bringing them back to 'jail'. Once all had been caught, they headed back to their cabins, did some cabin devotions, reflecting on the day, and then headed off to bed.

Once they had done that and put on tied shoes the sired was pullled and they all headed up to fireside for a camp picture and some overall camp rules that are very important, such as the necessity to hydrate oneself. After the orienantion rotation where the campers went to the low ropes course, a hayride around camp, a nurses check and the swim test there was cabin time so that they could get to know eachother a little bit more. After that was dinner and then CHAOS (or mailcall)where they played CPBC deal or no deal. Then after a little bit of down time they headed up to chapel, where there was a full nght awaiting for them. Worship, the staff song, verses, skits, testimony, offering, and the speaker. Tonight the speaker told us about the context of the verse for day one, Acts 26.16. Then they played capture the duck. The most crazy capture the duck in a while, with four games played, which is three more than usual. Those kids really know how to get that duck! then they headed to devos and went to bed to rest up for their first full day of camp.

They kids enjoyed a tasty breakfast of biscuts and gravy, as well as some fresh fruit and many options of cereal. After breakfast each cabin is responsible for picking up a section of camp and then heading back to their cabins to clean and pack up. Chapel was full this morning as they had to learn their final verse, close out the skits, and have a blast singing worship songs. Then the speaker wraped up the week with reminding us that we are sidekicks to God. A good number of staff members got thrown in the lake after chapel, all of whom came up stating the fact that the water was very cold, which the campers LOVED! Then they ate their pizza lunch and h3aded on to the busses and went on hom, filled with good memories from their week spend being HEROES at CPBC

The campers were up and ready for breakfast at 8:15, they were prepared to be nourished for the last full day of camp. With Breakfast in their bellies they were energized for the rest of the events for the morning. Chapel was a great start to the day. In the skits, the woodpecker and Matt had a tender moment when Matt translated for the woodpecker, and they decided that it might be better to go play a game such as jenga instead of trying to destroy the city of Theopolis. The remainder of the morning was skills classes, and since it was such a beautiful day the campers got to enjoy the outside skills classes that they wanted to participate in. The afternoon was FULL of activity. Cabin time was a blast and the cabin's were glad to spend their last cabin time looking back on all the fun that they had this week while participating in their activity of choice. Then the big game was a much anticipated one, TUBE MAINIA! After a week of some crazy weather, it was really fun to enjoy the warmth, and the mud that was created by the rain. After an all camp rinse off in the lake free time began. The kids had so much fun revisiting their favorite activities from the week. They were ready for dinner, and after dinner they got to sit back and watch a 'dramatic' show put on by the staff. With funny improv/camp skits they enjoyed themselves greatly. From there we headed up to the final chapel and had a blast spending some energy on singing praises to God, reviewing the verses of the week, and listening to the speaker. She spoke of ester, a girl hero of the bible, and how even though in the book of Ester, God isn't mentioned by name once, but the story is dripping with the presence of God. The bonfire was the final activity of the evening where the campers had the opportunity to share things or commitments that they learned this week and then they went to bed for a good night's rest of their final night at camp.

What a refreshing change from yesterday's weather. We were blessed with a warn sunny day, much to the delight of everybody. Morning chapel was fun, the skits left the campers with a cliff hanger ending...will belching bertha and deon duct tape who split off from the other three take over the city of theopolis, or will Pinecone Peter, ripped rhonda, matt save the day from the ravaging woodpecker. Since it was such a beautiful day skills time was heald outside again, and the campers had a blast. Lunch was down at the beach today with the lifeguards or Aqua 5 running Let In. After a nice rest the campers went with their cabins for cabin time to all the different areas of camp, and they continued their bonding which is important all through the week. The Beach Bash was the main activity of the afternoon. The life guards trained the campers in their super abilities of strenghth, agility, speed and underwater breathing (by passing leaking buckets over their heads) Free time was a prime opportunity for the campers to sieze the day and they did, they participated fully in every outdoor activity that they could make it too, and enjoyed the sunshine. An anticipated dinner was followed by C.H.A.O.S. (Crazy Humans Attempting Outrageous Stunts) where two rounds of deal or no deal were played and the campers won some pretty sweet prizes. Chapel was a great time to learn about the super hero of the day and the bible super hero of the day, and then to close out the night wasa the Drama where all of the campers calmed down from the incredible day and learned about the revolutionary unending love of God.

Well, the first rainy day at CPBC this summer has come and gone, but have no fear, the rain did not stop us from camp fun. The morning went as usual through chapel where one of our friendly skit characters found out that he had a super power. Though we have not yet been told what it is yet, we know that Matt cannot fly. The morning activities consisted of splitting up the camp into two groups and playing some fun activities in lakeside or family side of the dinning hall. There was a good mix of chill games and active games including pictionary, person to person, and fruit bowl mix up were played. The afternoon was full of awesome activities. Though not much could be done outside we still continued on with skills time where the campers got to have a lot of fun doing all the indoor activies that camp has to offer. And then for our big game we played a few rounds of trench (dodgeball with slighlty different rules) in the gym, it was so great seeing the campers get so into the game! Free time consisted of most of the usual options. The climbing wall was still open in fireside and many campers took advantage of that opportunity. There was also some skim boarding on the ball field, and other great activities that they could do all through camp. The two hours went by quickly before dinner, and after dinner was CHAOS (what we call mail call). The game for the evening was Deal or No Deal and a lucky camper won the chance to pie any staff member in the face at lunch tomorrow. The last event of the evening was chapel, since it was U turn night the speaker told us about how Jesus saves us. Mentioning stores such as Jesus' Baptism, as well as the time he spent in the garden praying, she revealed to the campers how deep the love of Jesus really is for us and the importance of having a personal relationship with him. The night closed with some more mellow worship and a much anticipated night's rest for all.

What a great first day for the campers. With a french toast stick breakfast filling their bellies they headed off to their morning where they went to chapel, cleaned their cabins, had some personal devotion time, and then skill time. The campers all went to different areas of camp to either improve on or learn different skills, such as archery, sailing, climbing, friendship bracelet making, etc. From lunch, they went to k-bar where they got to rest up to prepare for their afternoon. Cabin time was the first offical activity of the afternoon, like yesterday it was a time to bond more as a cabin, which is always a great opportunity, and a unique one to the camp setting. Then came the big game. The campers were exctied about the opportunity to play a camp favorite, Whip N' Strip. It was intense out there, but all played with good sportsmanship. the orange team won twice, and the red and green teams each won once. From there was free time. It was the first opportunity of the week for the campers to choose their own activities. Though the water was a little bit cold, that did not deter them from the beach, but other popular spots were the climbing tower and the craft hall. Ofcourse, many people visited the canteen for a mid afternoon snack. Dinner was followed by CHAOS (or mail call) where two very messy games were played. The honey cheerio game, and the ever popular EGG MAN! Much to the excitement of the campers. The evening consisted of chapel and a night game, which was fugitive, where the campers sought out characters such as Flounder, an air traffic controler, and skim boarders, to take them back to the 'jail.' After the game they headed back to their cabins for a time of devotion in community and some much anticipated sleep!

OFFICALY WELCOME TO SUMMER 2008! The campers arrived today to a very excited staff. Though it is a camp of only 60 some campers, the energy and excitement is not in short supply. The campers were greeted by our friendly neighborhood sidekicks...Pinecone Peter, Ripped Rhonda, Belching Bertha, Duct Tape Deon...and...Matt. And then were introducted to their fearless summer staff 2008. They enjoyed a lunch of fresh deli sandwitches and proceeded onto their first day rotations. The afternoon was all about getting to know your cabin, this included a trip to the beach for their swim test, a hay ride tour of camp, and a nurses check, as well as a journey to the Low Ropes Course to bond as a cabin through various challanges. Following their rotations was their first cabin time when each of the cabins got to participate in different camp actitvities. By the time dinner rolled around they were ready to eat with their new friends. A little break after dinner led into chapel where we caught up with the fearless sidekicks metioned above and learned a little bit more about them, as well as learning the theme verse and day one verse to songs with actions to aid in their memorization of the verses. The final, activitiy of the evening was capture the duck boys verses girls, though the game ended in a tie it was an excellent game played with much passion. And now they are nestled down in their beds resting their bodies and preparing for the day ahead!
