Covenant Pines Bible Camp: Shalom

Well, the time has come to close out the summer...and what a blessed summer it has been. It's hard to believe that the summer has already flown by, and we are getting ready to close up camp and head out back to schools and jobs and 'real' life. Although, isn't camp real life in itself. Shalom does not only mean peace, it means 'to be as God always intended.' We, staffers, campers, and families, come to camp, to this beautiful place to experience God's goodness. And we do experience it, we are surrounded by it. But it is not only in his creation that we find this goodness, it is in the christian community that we get to experience in this place. No matter how short of a time we are here, we leave blessed from the experience that we have in this place in this community. Covenant Pines saw a glimpse of Shalom here this summer. We saw God in all his Glory as he gave us an idea of what he always intended for us. We saw it in the sunsets that took our breath away and got us excited and praising God for his beauty and the way he shows his love for us through that. We saw it in the staff as they learned how to work together to further God's kingdom, and we saw it in the campers as their eyes widened in wonder as they discovered all that God desires and has in-store for them, and their excitement as they surrendered to God's will and were able to tell the community they created here about their new attitude and life. God has blessed us this summer, and He has radically changed lives in ways we may never know. All Glory to Him forever. Thus I will close with this, May the deep peace of Christ sustian you and the strong arms of God strengthen you in every way. Shalom.
